19 Kids, 12 Adults

Every three years growing up my Canadian grandparents rented a huge house (everything feels huge when you're a kid. It'd be interesting to see it now that I'm grown up) in beautiful Waterton, Alberta. We'd spend the week catching up with cousins, playing games that drove the adults crazy (rousing game of spoons anyone?), and walking around town. I loved those reunions.

Now that we all have our own families, my parents decided to continue this tradition with our family. Last month my siblings traveled from 3 corners of the country for our 4th reunion. It just keeps getting better and better. We're all quite musical and Rock Band is a pretty big thing at all of our houses, so the theme was "We Will Rock You." Our group separated into 5 bands and during the reunion days we completed several challenges with our bandmates. We all really let our hair down and had some fun.

The original 7 stars.

Now we're a group of 31.

Jade's band performing "Eye of the Tiger" for the karaoke competition.

Logan's band performing "Surfin' USA."

Nate's band in "We Will Rock You."

Each band had a bandana and had to come up with a name for themselves. Logan's band was the "Space Rockers."

Jade's favorite cousin is Hunter from Washington. She thinks he's pretty much the coolest person on the planet.

4-wheeler rides are always a hit with our kids. Aeris, though timid at first, monopolized the front seat.

Jade, trying to put together a photo family tree. She knows all of the cousins and who their parents are, but knowing which order everyone was born in was tricky!

Funny

My two nephews crack me up. This was their talent entry at our family reunion.

Teens Who've Got Talent

My side just had a fun family reunion, complete with Rock n Roll theme (more details later). This music video features the older kids of the group. Behind the scenes is us adults in the kitchen below wondering if they're going to come through the floor. The thumping and bumping we heard over and over all made sense once we saw the tape!
